Exosome Therapy — Before & After Care

Exosome Therapy delivers concentrated regenerative signalling factors deep into the skin to stimulate collagen, calm inflammation and improve tone — but how you look after your skin in the hours and days afterwards has a real impact on how well those signals take hold. This aftercare guide from Dr Azra Vaziri explains exactly what to do before and after your session so you heal cleanly and get the smoothest, most natural result.
— Before Your Treatment

How to Prepare (Before Care)

A little preparation makes your session smoother and reduces the small amount of bruising or redness that regenerative micro-injections can cause. Because exosomes work best in healthy, well-hydrated tissue, the days leading up to your appointment matter as much as the treatment itself. If you are unsure about any medication or supplement, message the clinic on WhatsApp before your visit.
✓ Do
  • Hydrate well for 24–48 hours before — plump, well-watered skin responds better to regenerative signalling.
  • Arrive with clean, bare skin where possible; if you wear make-up we will gently remove it before treatment.
  • Eat a normal meal beforehand so you feel comfortable during the injections.
  • Tell Dr Azra about all medications, supplements and any history of cold sores or facial infections.
  • Book any events or photoshoots with a few days’ buffer to allow minor redness or pinpoint marks to settle.
✗ Avoid before
  • Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and high-dose vitamin E for 24 hours (unless prescribed — never stop prescribed medication without your doctor).
  • Alcohol for at least 24 hours, as it thins the blood and increases bruising.
  • Any active cold sore, breakout or skin infection in the treatment area — we will reschedule if needed.
  • Strong actives (retinol, AHA/BHA, vitamin C) for 2–3 days before so the skin barrier is calm.
  • Sunburn or aggressive exfoliation in the days before your appointment.

After Your Treatment — Day by Day

Exosome Therapy has very little true downtime, but the skin is quietly busy for weeks afterwards. Here is what to expect from the first day through to your visible glow.
24h

Same day — first 24 hours

Expect mild redness, warmth and a few tiny injection points, occasionally a small bruise. Leave the injection points completely alone, skip make-up for 12–24 hours and avoid touching or rubbing the area. Keep skincare to plain water and a gentle moisturiser only.

1–7

Days 1–7 — barrier settling

Redness fades quickly, usually within a day or two. Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, steam and hot showers for 24–48 hours, and keep all actives (retinol, AHA/BHA, vitamin C) off the skin for 48 hours. Stick to gentle cleansing, hydration and daily SPF; hold off on facials, peels or laser for about a week.

2–4

Weeks 2–4 — regeneration builds

The regenerative signals are now driving collagen and cellular turnover beneath the surface. Skin often begins to look fresher, more even and better hydrated. Resume your normal routine and continue diligent sun protection to protect the new collagen.

6+

Weeks 6+ — peak results & your course

Results continue to build for several weeks and are cumulative — most people benefit from a short course of sessions rather than a single treatment. Dr Azra will map out your ideal schedule so improvements in tone, texture and glow keep compounding.

— Do & Don’t

Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts

These simple rules protect the freshly treated skin and give the exosomes the calm environment they need to work. The same principles apply to related regenerative treatments such as PRP and polynucleotides.
✓ Do
  • Leave the injection points untouched and let any tiny marks heal on their own.
  • Cleanse gently with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.
  • Keep skin hydrated with a bland moisturiser and apply broad-spectrum SPF every morning.
  • Sleep on your back the first night if your face was treated, to avoid pressure on the area.
  • Drink plenty of water — hydration supports the regenerative process.
  • Follow the session schedule Dr Azra recommends to build cumulative results.
✗ Don’t
  • Wear make-up for 12–24 hours, or apply anything to the injection points on day one.
  • Do strenuous exercise, or use saunas, steam rooms or hot showers for 24–48 hours.
  • Use actives — retinol, AHA/BHA or vitamin C — for 48 hours.
  • Book facials, chemical peels or laser for around one week.
  • Pick, scratch, rub or massage the treated area.
  • Drink alcohol or take non-essential blood thinners for 24 hours, as both worsen bruising.
When to contact the clinic. Mild redness, warmth, slight swelling and a few pinpoint marks or small bruises are completely normal after Exosome Therapy and settle within a day or two. However, please contact us promptly if you notice spreading redness or heat, increasing pain, pus or discharge, fever, or any sign of an unexpected reaction such as a returning cold sore or persistent swelling. Dr Azra and the team are here to reassure you and check anything that concerns you — simply message us on WhatsApp +971 50 180 1793.
— Common Questions

Exosome Therapy Aftercare FAQ

Very little. Most people have only mild redness and a few tiny injection points that fade within a day or two, so many return to work the same day. Avoid make-up for 12–24 hours and skip the gym, sauna and hot showers for 24–48 hours. You can read more about the treatment itself on our Exosome Skin Treatment page.

Wait 24–48 hours before strenuous exercise, hot yoga, sauna or steam. Raising your body temperature and blood flow too soon can increase redness and swelling around the injection points, so give your skin a short rest before resuming your usual workouts.

You can cleanse very gently with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser the same evening, but leave the injection points alone and avoid rubbing. Hold off on make-up for 12–24 hours, and keep actives such as retinol, AHA/BHA and vitamin C off the skin for 48 hours while the barrier settles.

Results build gradually over several weeks as the exosomes stimulate collagen and skin renewal, with peak improvement typically from around 6 weeks. Because the effect is cumulative, a short course of sessions is usual — Dr Azra will tailor your plan during your consultation. See current fees on the exosome price page or the full price list.

Yes. Mild redness, warmth, slight swelling and a few pinpoint marks or small bruises are all normal and usually resolve within one to two days. If you notice spreading redness, increasing pain, pus, fever or any reaction that worries you, contact the clinic promptly on WhatsApp for reassurance and a review.
