HydraFacial — Before & After Care
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Arrive with clean skin — remove make-up, SPF and heavy skincare before your appointment.
- Stay well hydrated in the days before; plump, hydrated skin exfoliates more evenly.
- Tell us about any recent facials, lasers, injectables or active breakouts so we can tailor the serums.
- Book around events — HydraFacial gives an instant glow, so time it 1–2 days before a big occasion.
- Let us know if your skin is sensitive or prone to redness so we can adjust the vortex settings.
- Pause retinoids (retinol/tretinoin) and strong exfoliants for 2–3 days before treatment.
- Avoid AHA/BHA acids, scrubs and at-home peels for a few days prior.
- No waxing, threading or depilatory creams on the treatment area for 48 hours.
- Avoid unprotected sun exposure or a fresh tan/sunburn before your session.
- Skip other resurfacing treatments (peels, lasers, microneedling) in the days leading up unless advised.
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First Few Hours — Instant Glow
Skin may look slightly pink or flushed for an hour or two — this is normal and settles quickly. Leave the skin bare for a few hours: no make-up, and let the infused serums keep working. You’ll notice a clean, hydrated, luminous finish straight away.
Days 1–7 — Barrier Protection
For the first 24–48 hours avoid retinol, AHA/BHA acids and any exfoliation so the freshly resurfaced skin stays calm. Skip sauna, steam room, hot yoga and heavy sweating for 24 hours. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every morning — your skin is more receptive to sun right now.
Week 2–4 — Smooth & Refined
Congestion, dullness and rough texture continue to improve as cell turnover benefits from the deep cleanse. Pores look tighter, make-up sits more smoothly and your regular actives can be reintroduced gradually. This is the ideal window to plan your next session.
Ongoing — Best in a Series
HydraFacial results are cumulative. A monthly series (roughly every 4–6 weeks) builds lasting clarity, hydration and even tone. Pair with a good home routine and SPF to maintain that healthy, glowing complexion long-term.
Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts
- Keep skin bare for a few hours, then use only gentle, hydrating products.
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every morning — daily sun protection is essential.
- Drink plenty of water to support the deep hydration boost.
- Use a mild, non-foaming cleanser and a simple moisturiser for the first day or two.
- Reintroduce actives (retinol/acids) slowly after 48 hours, one product at a time.
- Book your HydraFacial as a series for the fullest, longest-lasting results.
- No make-up for a few hours after treatment; let the serums absorb fully.
- Avoid retinol, AHA/BHA acids and physical exfoliation for 24–48 hours.
- No sauna, steam room, hot tub, hot yoga or heavy sweating for 24 hours.
- Skip scrubs, cleansing brushes and harsh tools for the first 48 hours.
- Avoid direct sun and tanning beds; never go out without SPF.
- Don’t pick or over-treat any minor purging — let the skin settle.
