Thread Lift — Before & After Care
How to prepare for and recover from a thread lift with Dr Azra Vaziri — what to do before, a day-by-day recovery timeline, and when to call the clinic.
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Tell Dr Azra about all medications and supplements
- Stay well hydrated in the days before
- Arrive with clean skin, no make-up on the day
- Eat a light meal before your appointment
- Blood thinners & anti-inflammatories (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for ~5–7 days — only with your doctor’s guidance
- Alcohol for 24–48 hours before
- Booking around dental work (keep ~2 weeks clear)
- Treatment if you have an active skin infection or cold sore
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First 24 hours
Expect mild swelling, tightness and possibly small bruises at entry points. Sleep on your back with your head elevated. Apply a cold compress gently (do not press). Avoid touching or massaging the area.
Days 1–7
Keep the face relaxed — avoid wide yawning, big facial expressions, and chewing very hard or chewy foods. No facial massage, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise. Continue sleeping face-up and elevated. Bruising usually fades within this week.
Weeks 2–4
Avoid facials, dental procedures and high-intensity workouts. Most swelling and tightness settle and the lift starts to look natural. Sleeping position can gradually return to normal.
Week 6 onward
Collagen stimulation continues and final results become visible. A review with Dr Azra confirms the outcome and whether any refinement is helpful.

- Sauna, steam, hot yoga or sunbeds
- Strenuous exercise for ~1–2 weeks
- Sleep on your side or face-down
