Body Thread Lift — Before & After Care
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Attend your consultation with Dr Azra so the treatment area, thread type and expected lift are mapped out — see the price list beforehand if it helps you plan.
- Eat a normal meal and stay well hydrated on the day; being comfortable makes the placement smoother.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing that will not press or rub against the treated area afterwards.
- Tell us about all medications and supplements you take, and any tendency to bruise or bleed, so we can plan safely.
- Arrive with clean, product-free skin over the treatment area — no heavy lotions, oils or self-tan on the day.
- Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish-oil, plus alcohol, for 5–7 days before — but only stop prescribed medication with your doctor’s guidance.
- Booking if you have any active skin infection, open wound or rash over the intended area — this must be fully settled first.
- Alcohol the night before, as it thins the blood and increases bruising and swelling.
- Vigorous exercise or intense heat exposure in the 24 hours before your appointment.
- Scheduling near a major event — allow room for mild swelling or bruising to fade.
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First 24 hours
Expect mild swelling, tightness and possibly some bruising at the entry points — this is completely normal for a body thread lift. Keep the area clean and dry, sleep in a position that avoids direct pressure on the treated zone, and do not massage or rub it.
Days 1 to 7
Tightness and a pulling sensation are common as the threads anchor and your tissue adjusts, especially with movement. Bruising begins to fade. Continue to avoid pressing the area, sleep on your back where possible, and keep clothing loose over the region.
Weeks 2 to 4
Swelling largely settles and the lift becomes more visible and natural-looking. You can gradually ease back into gentle activity, but continue to avoid deep massage, sauna and steam over the treated area until cleared.
Week 6 and beyond
Your final result settles over 4–6 weeks as the PDO threads stimulate collagen and the skin firms. For a longer-lasting, smoother finish, Dr Azra may recommend pairing threads with a body biostimulator or skin tightening.
Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts
- Keep the treated area clean and gently pat it dry — no scrubbing.
- Sleep and rest in positions that keep pressure off the treated zone for the first week.
- Wear soft, loose clothing so nothing compresses or drags on the skin.
- Move naturally with everyday walking, but keep it gentle and low-impact at first.
- Use any soothing or care products exactly as Dr Azra advises.
- Book your review so we can check the lift and plan any maintenance, such as a complementary face thread lift if desired.
- Massaging, pressing, rubbing or manipulating the treated area — this can shift the threads.
- Strenuous exercise, gym, heavy lifting and high-impact activity for 1–2 weeks.
- Sauna, steam rooms, hot baths and intense heat over the area for 1–2 weeks.
- Very tight or compressive clothing, shapewear or belts over the treated region.
- Deep-tissue massage or aggressive body scrubs on the area until fully healed.
- Sleeping directly on the treated side or letting bags and straps rest on it early on.
