This guide covers recovery only. The treatment itself — in brief, from the Hair Filler Dubai page:
- Procedure
- About 20–30 minutes: after numbing cream, the peptide and hyaluronic-acid complex is injected into the scalp at the thinning areas using very fine needles
- Course
- 2–4 sessions about 2–3 weeks apart, followed by maintenance
- Results
- Reduced shedding is often the first noticeable change (early change at 6–8 weeks); density and thickness build over the following weeks and months
How peptides prolong the follicle growth phase, who is and is not a candidate, how it compares with PRP and exosome therapy, and 9 answered questions are on the treatment page.

How to Prepare (Before Care)
Do
- Wash your hair with a gentle shampoo before the appointment so the scalp is clean and product-free at the time of injection.
- Arrive with dry, loose hair — skip gels, mousse, dry shampoo, oils and heavy leave-in products on the day.
- Eat a normal meal and stay well hydrated so you feel comfortable during the session.

- Tell us about any medications, supplements, scalp conditions or recent hair treatments so we can plan safely.
- Plan a course: hair growth responds to a series of sessions, so book your treatment plan in advance rather than a single visit.
Avoid before
- Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and high-dose fish oil or vitamin E for 24 hours (only pause prescribed medication with your doctor’s approval).
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand, as it thins the blood and can increase bruising.
- Avoid harsh scalp treatments, colouring or chemical services in the days just before your session.

- Avoid heavy exercise immediately before your appointment so your scalp is calm and not flushed.
- Avoid scheduling on a day when you cannot leave your hair unwashed overnight.

— Common Questions
Hair Filler Aftercare FAQ
How long before I can wash my hair after Hair Filler?
Please leave your hair unwashed and product-free for 12–24 hours so the injected serum can settle into the follicles. After that you can wash gently with a mild, sulphate-free shampoo and lukewarm water. Many patients treat their session day as a “dry” day and return to their normal routine the next morning.
When can I exercise, swim or use the sauna again?
Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy sweating for 24 hours, and keep away from swimming pools, sauna and steam rooms for 48 hours to protect the injection points. Light walking is fine straight away. If you’re combining Hair Filler with other hair treatments, we’ll give you a tailored timeline.
Are the bumps, redness and itching after treatment normal?
Yes. Small bumps at the injection sites, mild redness, tenderness and a little itching are expected and usually fade within a few hours to a couple of days. Try not to scratch or rub the scalp. Contact the clinic only if you notice spreading redness, worsening pain, discharge or fever, which are uncommon.
How many sessions do I need and when will I see results?
Hair Filler works as a course rather than a one-off. Most plans involve several sessions a few weeks apart, with visible improvement in density and thickness typically building from around 8–12 weeks and maintenance every few months afterwards. See our price list or book a consultation for a personalised plan.
Can I combine Hair Filler with exosomes or mesotherapy?
Often yes. Depending on your goals, Dr Azra may combine or alternate Hair Filler with exosome hair therapy or scalp mesotherapy to boost results. The aftercare is very similar for all scalp-injection treatments, and we’ll confirm the exact protocol for your combination at your visit.
