Potenza in Dubai — the RF Microneedling Device Explained
Potenza is the RF microneedling platform Dr Azra Vaziri treats with. This page is about the machine itself — its two RF modes, its Tiger and Fusion tips, and what it can do that a basic RF microneedling device cannot. From AED 2,000 per session (standard AED 2,250), performed by the physician.
What the Potenza platform actually is
Potenza is an FDA-cleared radiofrequency microneedling platform made by Cynosure. It is the device — the console, the handpiece and the interchangeable needle tips — not the treatment. The treatment it performs is RF microneedling: fine insulated needles enter the skin, and radiofrequency energy is released at the needle tip, so the heat that remodels collagen is delivered inside the dermis rather than through the surface of the skin.
What separates Potenza from earlier-generation RF microneedling devices is that it is a platform rather than a single fixed configuration. It carries two different RF modes, several different needle tips including two with distinctive functions, and adjustable needle depth up to 4mm. In practice this means that the same console can perform quite different treatments depending on what the skin in front of it needs — a deep tightening pass on a jawline and a superficial texture pass on a cheek can be done in the same session without changing device.
That flexibility is the reason this page exists separately. If you have been researching RF microneedling in Dubai you will have found that clinics use different machines and describe the treatment in more or less the same words. The device is where the actual differences live.
Potenza the device, RF microneedling the treatment — which page do you want?
These are two different questions, and we have deliberately given them two different pages rather than one page trying to answer both badly.
“What is Potenza, and is it better than the machine at the other clinic?”
What the Potenza platform is, who makes it, how monopolar and bipolar RF modes differ, what the Tiger Tip and Fusion Tip do, how it compares to Morpheus8, and why Dr Azra chose it. Read this if you are comparing devices, or if a clinic has quoted you for “RF microneedling” and you want to know what they are treating you with.
“Is RF microneedling the right treatment for my skin?”
What RF microneedling does, which concerns it treats, who is and is not a candidate, what the session feels like, the week-by-week results timeline, downtime and aftercare. Read this if you are deciding whether to have the treatment at all.
Most people need both, in that order: decide on the treatment first, then care about the device. If you are early in your research, start with the RF microneedling treatment page and come back here when you are comparing clinics.
Monopolar and bipolar: two RF modes in one console
This is the single biggest technical difference between Potenza and most RF microneedling devices, which offer bipolar only.
Depth and volumetric remodelling
Energy travels deeper into the tissue, producing broader volumetric heating. This is the mode that does structural work — laxity, firmness, the kind of change you are asking for when you say the lower face has softened.
Surface refinement
Energy is concentrated in the superficial dermis between two poles. This is the mode for texture and pore appearance — a shallower, more focused effect.
Both modes are available within a single session on the same device. A device with bipolar only can do the second job well; it cannot do the first in the same way, and it cannot switch between them mid-treatment. If your concern is genuinely structural — skin tightening and firmness rather than surface polish — that difference is the one worth understanding.
The tips: where Potenza does things basic RF microneedling cannot
The handpiece takes interchangeable tips. Two of them do things that a standard fully-insulated needle tip simply does not do.
Tiger Tip
Multi-depth
A semi-insulated needle design specific to Potenza. Because the needle is only partly insulated, RF energy is released at more than one depth on the same pass, creating a broader column of collagen stimulation rather than a single point. A fully-insulated tip treats one depth per pass.
Fusion Tip
Infusion
Delivers active ingredients — hyaluronic acid, peptides or growth factors — through the micro-channels the needles create, while they are still open. This is what allows an exosome infusion to be combined with the RF pass in one session rather than layered on afterwards.
Interchangeable configurations
Precision
Multiple tips with different needle counts and arrangements. Delicate skin around the eyes and the skin over a jawline do not want the same needle density or the same energy, and the tip is changed accordingly rather than the settings being compromised.
Put together, this is the honest answer to “what can Potenza do that basic RF microneedling cannot”: treat more than one depth in a single pass, switch between deep and superficial energy delivery without changing machine, and infuse actives through the channels during treatment rather than after. None of that makes RF microneedling on another device a bad treatment. It does mean fewer compromises when one face presents several different problems at once — which is the normal case, not the exception.
Potenza vs Morpheus8
The two devices you will most often be choosing between in Dubai. Both are reputable, with real clinical track records. They are not the same machine.
| Feature | Potenza (used by Dr Azra) | Morpheus8 |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer | Cynosure | InMode |
| RF modes | Monopolar + bipolar, switchable | Bipolar only |
| Needle depth | Up to 4mm, adjustable | Up to 4mm (7mm body tip) |
| Multi-depth per pass | Yes — Tiger Tip, semi-insulated | No — single depth per pass |
| Built-in topical infusion | Yes — Fusion Tip | Not a built-in feature |
| Needle tip options | Multiple configurations and counts | Standard and body tips |
| Skin type suitability | All Fitzpatrick types | All Fitzpatrick types |
Both devices are safe across all Fitzpatrick types, which matters in the UAE where most patients are Fitzpatrick III to VI. Because RF energy is delivered at the needle tip rather than at the surface, the epidermis is largely spared in either case. The differences above are about versatility, not about safety.
Why Dr Azra chose Potenza
Dr Azra Vaziri is a DHA- and DOH-licensed aesthetic physician with more than twenty years of experience, and she selected the Potenza platform specifically for its versatility rather than for any single headline feature.
The reasoning is practical. A patient rarely arrives with one clean problem. She arrives with some laxity along the jaw, some acne scarring on the cheeks, visible pores across the centre of the face and thinner, more reactive skin around the eyes — and all of that wants different depths, different energy and different needle densities. On a single-mode, single-tip device, you choose which of those problems to treat properly and which to treat approximately. On Potenza, you change mode and tip within the session and treat each zone on its own terms.
Potenza at this clinic is physician-delivered. It is not on the facialist treatment menu and is not delegated: Dr Azra performs the assessment, sets the depth, mode and energy for each zone, and runs the handpiece herself.
Where you can be treated with Potenza
Dr Azra treats at two locations in the UAE — the Dubai clinic on Sheikh Zayed Road, and Louvre Medical in Abu Dhabi. Potenza sessions can be arranged at either, and patients travelling from Abu Dhabi frequently ask about this because dedicated Potenza providers are not evenly spread across the Emirates. Whichever location suits you, the assessment and the treatment are performed by Dr Azra herself, and the protocol does not change between clinics.
If you are unsure which location is easier for you, mention it when you book your consultation and we will arrange it around you.
Potenza price in Dubai
Potenza is a physician-delivered treatment and is priced on the doctor tier, not on the facialist menu.
| Treatment | Price (AED) |
|---|---|
| RF microneedling with Potenza — face, single session | From 2,000 (standard 2,250) |
| Package — 2 sessions | From 3,000 (standard 3,500) |
| RF microneedling + exosome infusion — single session | From 3,000 (standard 3,400) |
Final pricing depends on the treatment area, the number of passes and any add-ons, and is confirmed at your consultation. A course of 3–4 sessions is usually recommended. These are the same prices as on the RF microneedling treatment page — the device does not carry a separate charge.

Frequently asked questions
What is Potenza?
Potenza is an FDA-cleared radiofrequency microneedling platform made by Cynosure. It is the device rather than the treatment: fine insulated needles enter the skin and radiofrequency energy is released at the needle tip, so collagen remodelling happens inside the dermis rather than through the surface of the skin.
What is the difference between Potenza and RF microneedling?
RF microneedling is the treatment; Potenza is one of the devices that performs it. Every Potenza session is RF microneedling, but not every RF microneedling session is done on a Potenza. This page covers the device, and our RF microneedling page covers the treatment itself — what it treats, who suits it, and what recovery looks like.
Is Potenza the same as Morpheus8?
No. Both are RF microneedling devices with genuine clinical track records, but Potenza offers monopolar and bipolar RF modes that can be switched within a session, a semi-insulated Tiger Tip that delivers energy at more than one depth per pass, and a Fusion Tip for infusing actives during treatment. Morpheus8 uses bipolar RF only. Both are suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types.
What can Potenza do that basic RF microneedling cannot?
Three things: treat more than one depth in a single pass using the semi-insulated Tiger Tip, switch between deep monopolar and superficial bipolar energy without changing device, and infuse active ingredients through the micro-channels during treatment using the Fusion Tip. This means fewer compromises when one face presents several different concerns at once.
How deep do the Potenza needles go?
Needle depth is adjustable up to 4mm. The depth used is set per treatment zone, because delicate skin around the eyes and the skin over the jawline require very different settings.
How much does Potenza cost in Dubai?
Potenza RF microneedling for the face starts from AED 2,000 per session (standard AED 2,250) at Dr Azra Clinic. A package of 2 sessions starts from AED 3,000 (standard AED 3,500), and RF microneedling with an exosome infusion starts from AED 3,000 (standard AED 3,400). Final pricing depends on the treatment area, number of passes and any add-ons, and is confirmed at consultation.
Is Potenza safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Because the radiofrequency energy is delivered at the needle tip rather than at the skin surface, the epidermis is largely protected from thermal damage. Potenza is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including the richer skin tones common among patients in the UAE.
Who performs Potenza treatments at Dr Azra Clinic?
Dr Azra Vaziri performs them herself. She is a DHA- and DOH-licensed aesthetic physician with more than twenty years of experience. Potenza is a physician-delivered treatment at this clinic and is not on the facialist treatment menu.
Can I have Potenza in Abu Dhabi?
Dr Azra treats at two UAE locations — the Dubai clinic on Sheikh Zayed Road and Louvre Medical in Abu Dhabi — and sessions can be arranged at either. The assessment and the treatment are performed by Dr Azra at both, and the protocol does not change between clinics.
What are the Tiger Tip and the Fusion Tip?
The Tiger Tip is a semi-insulated needle design specific to Potenza that releases radiofrequency energy at more than one depth on the same pass, creating a broader column of collagen stimulation than a fully-insulated tip. The Fusion Tip delivers active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, peptides or growth factors through the micro-channels while they are still open.
