Profhilo — Before & After Care
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Arrive with clean, bare skin — remove make-up, SPF and heavy moisturiser before your appointment.
- Stay well hydrated in the days beforehand; Profhilo works with your skin’s own water content.
- Tell Dr Azra about all medications and supplements, any past cold sores, and previous filler or skin-booster treatments.
- Eat a light meal before you come so you feel comfortable during the injections.
- Plan the timing — ideally avoid a big event in the first 2–3 days in case of minor redness or bumps.
- Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for about 24 hours (unless prescribed — never stop prescribed medication without your doctor).
- Alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand, as it increases bruising and swelling.
- Active skincare (retinol, AHAs/BHAs, strong vitamin C) for 1–2 days before to calm the skin.
- Facials, waxing, peels or laser on the treatment area in the days leading up to your session.
- Booking on a day when you are unwell or have an active skin infection or breakout at the injection sites.
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First 24 hours — the little bumps
Profhilo is placed as small deposits, so you will usually see and feel tiny raised bumps or papules at each injection point, along with some mild redness or swelling. This is completely normal — the product is designed to spread and settle. Leave the bumps alone, keep make-up off for 12–24 hours, and apply a cool compress lightly if you feel puffy.
Day 1 to Day 2 — bumps settle
For most people the bumps flatten and reabsorb within a few hours to around two days as the hyaluronic acid disperses evenly through the skin. Any bruising, if it appears, is usually small. Stick to gentle, hydrating skincare and daily SPF, and resist the urge to touch or massage the area.
Days 3 to 7 — back to normal
By now the injection points have calmed and you can return to your normal skincare and light routines. Continue to avoid facials, peels, microneedling and other skin treatments until around the two-week mark so the product integrates undisturbed.
Weeks 3 to 4 — results build
This is when Profhilo really shows — skin looks more hydrated, firmer and more even as it stimulates collagen and elastin. A course is usually 2–3 sessions spaced about four weeks apart for the best result, after which many patients maintain with a session every few months.
Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts
- Leave the injection bumps and any swelling alone — they settle on their own within hours to a couple of days.
- Keep the skin bare for 12–24 hours, then use only gentle, hydrating skincare.
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every day — sun protection is especially important in Dubai’s climate.
- Sleep on your back for the first night or two if you can, to avoid pressing on the treated area.
- Drink plenty of water — hydration supports how Profhilo works in the skin.
- Attend your follow-up sessions on schedule to complete the recommended course.
- Touching, rubbing or massaging the injection points, which can displace the product.
- Make-up for 12–24 hours to let the skin recover cleanly.
- Strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and hot showers for 24–48 hours.
- Facials, chemical peels, microneedling and laser treatments for about 1–2 weeks.
- Alcohol and blood thinners for the first 24 hours to limit swelling and bruising.
- Extreme heat and direct, prolonged sun exposure while the skin is settling.
