Biostimulator (Body) — Before & After Care
How to prepare for and recover from a collagen-stimulating body biostimulator treatment with Dr Azra Vaziri in Dubai. Because products like Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) and Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) work by building your own collagen, correct aftercare — especially the massage routine — genuinely shapes your result.
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Tell Dr Azra about all medications, supplements and any autoimmune or clotting conditions
- Stay well hydrated in the days before — biostimulators integrate better into healthy, hydrated tissue
- Arrive with the treatment area (buttocks, thighs, arms, knees or abdomen) clean and free of lotions or self-tan
- Eat a light meal beforehand and wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Plan your sessions in advance — body biostimulation is usually a course of 2–3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart
- Blood thinners & anti-inflammatories (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 24 hours — only stop prescribed medicines with your doctor’s guidance
- Alcohol for 24 hours before to reduce bruising
- Intense workouts, sauna and very hot baths on the day of treatment
- Treatment over an active skin infection, rash or broken skin in the area
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First 24–48 hours
Expect mild swelling, tenderness and possibly small bruises in the treated area. If you had Sculptra, begin the massage routine as Dr Azra instructs — commonly the 5-5-5 rule: massage for about 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days, to distribute the product evenly. Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna and heat for 24–48 hours.
Days 1–7
Continue the daily massage for the full 5 days if you were advised to. Swelling and any initial “plumpness” from fluid settle during this week — this is normal and not your final result. Resume light activity, but hold off on heavy training, sauna and steam. Apply daily SPF if the area is sun-exposed.
Weeks 2–4
Skip facials, body treatments and aggressive massage of the area for around 2 weeks. Your body quietly begins producing new collagen. Firming is subtle at this stage — the visible change is still building. Your next session in the course is often scheduled around now.
Weeks 6–12
This is when biostimulators shine: new collagen matures and the skin looks firmer, smoother and more supported. Results are gradual and natural, developing over 6–12 weeks per session. A review with Dr Azra confirms the outcome and whether a further session will enhance it.
Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts
- Massage the treated area exactly as instructed if you had Sculptra (typically 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days)
- Apply a cool compress and take paracetamol if you need it for tenderness
- Drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated
- Wear daily SPF 50+ on any sun-exposed treated skin
- Attend every session in your recommended course for a firmer, longer-lasting result
- Pair with a body skin booster only when Dr Azra advises
- Skip or shorten the prescribed massage — it helps prevent uneven distribution
- Do strenuous exercise, sauna, steam or hot baths for 24–48 hours
- Book facials or professional body treatments for about 2 weeks
- Have deep-tissue massage or aggressive body sculpting over the area early on
- Sunbathe or use tanning beds while the area is healing
- Judge your result in the first weeks — collagen builds gradually
