Sunekos — Before & After Care

Sunekos is an injectable amino-acid and hyaluronic-acid skin booster that rebuilds collagen and elastin from within, so the right aftercare protects those tiny injection points while your skin does its regenerative work. This guide from Dr Azra Vaziri walks you through exactly what to do before and after each session in our Dubai clinic to get smooth, hydrated, natural-looking results.
— Before Your Treatment

How to Prepare (Before Care)

✓ Do
  • Arrive with clean, bare skin — remove all make-up, SPF and heavy moisturiser before your appointment.
  • Stay well hydrated in the 24–48 hours before, and eat a light meal so you are comfortable during the injections.
  • Tell Dr Azra about every medication and supplement you take, plus any allergies, cold-sore history or recent aesthetic treatments.
  • Come to your consultation ready to discuss your goals so we can plan the right course of sessions for your skin.
  • Schedule your session at least a week before any big event, as tiny bumps can be visible on the treatment day.
✗ Avoid before
  • Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for 24 hours (unless prescribed — never stop prescribed medication without your doctor).
  • Alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand, as it increases bruising and swelling.
  • Active skincare (retinol, AHA/BHA acids, strong exfoliants) for 2–3 days before.
  • Facials, peels, waxing or laser on the treatment area in the days leading up to your session.
  • Booking on a day you have been in intense sun or have active skin irritation or breakouts.

After Your Treatment — Day by Day

24h

First hours to day 2

You may see small temporary bumps or papules at each injection point, along with mild redness or slight swelling. This is completely normal for a skin booster — the fluid is settling into the skin. Most bumps flatten within a few hours to around two days. Leave them alone and let them absorb naturally.

1–7

The first week

Any redness, tenderness or pinpoint marks fade over the first few days. Keep skincare gentle and hydrating, apply a broad-spectrum SPF every morning, and avoid heat, heavy sweating and pressure on the area while the injection channels close.

2–4

Weeks 2 to 4

This is when Sunekos gets to work — the amino acids stimulate your own fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen and elastin. Skin gradually looks more hydrated, firmer and more even in tone and texture. Results build steadily over 3–4 weeks rather than appearing instantly.

6+

Your course & maintenance

Sunekos works best as a short course, usually 2–3 sessions spaced a couple of weeks apart, to fully rebuild the skin’s support structure. After completing your course, occasional maintenance keeps results looking fresh. Dr Azra will confirm your ideal schedule at your review.

— Do & Don’t

Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts

✓ Do
  • Leave the tiny bumps and injection points completely alone — they settle on their own.
  • Keep your skin clean and use a gentle, hydrating cleanser and moisturiser.
  • Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every day to protect the fresh collagen and results.
  • Drink plenty of water — hydration supports the hyaluronic acid working in your skin.
  • Sleep on your back the first night if the face was treated, to avoid pressure on the area.
  • Message us on WhatsApp if you have any questions during recovery.
✗ Avoid after
  • No make-up for 12–24 hours to keep the injection points clean.
  • Do not touch, rub or massage the treated area.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers for 24–48 hours.
  • No facials, peels, laser or microneedling for about 1–2 weeks.
  • Skip alcohol for 24 hours, as it worsens swelling and slows healing.
  • Avoid direct sun, tanning beds and extreme heat while your skin recovers.
When to contact the clinic. Small bumps, mild redness, light swelling and slight tenderness after Sunekos are completely normal and settle within hours to a couple of days — there is no need to worry about these. However, please contact us promptly if you notice increasing pain, spreading redness or warmth, significant or asymmetric swelling, signs of infection such as pus or fever, any skin that turns pale, dusky or blotchy, or blistering. These are rare, but early advice is always best. Reach Dr Azra’s team directly on WhatsApp +971 50 180 1793.
— Common Questions

Sunekos Aftercare FAQ

Yes — tiny temporary bumps or papules at each injection point are a normal and expected part of any injectable skin booster. They are simply the product sitting just under the surface and usually flatten within a few hours to around two days. The most important thing is to leave them alone — do not press, rub or massage them.

Sunekos is a regenerative treatment, so results build gradually rather than instantly. Most people notice smoother, more hydrated, better-toned skin over 3–4 weeks as new collagen and elastin form. For the best outcome it is used as a course, typically 2–3 sessions a couple of weeks apart. You can see current pricing on our price list.

Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and very hot showers for 24–48 hours. Heat and heavy sweating can increase swelling and irritate the fresh injection points while the tiny channels in the skin are still closing. Gentle movement and normal daily activity are fine straight away.

You can cleanse gently the same evening with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser, but please avoid make-up for 12–24 hours to keep the injection points clean and lower any infection risk. After that, apply products gently without rubbing, and use a daily broad-spectrum SPF to protect your results.

Aftercare for Sunekos is very similar to other bio-remodelling boosters such as Jalupro, and to delicate areas like under-eye rejuvenation — keep the area clean, avoid heat and pressure, and let the skin regenerate. If you have had several treatments together, Dr Azra will give you a tailored plan; just message the clinic on WhatsApp if anything feels unusual.
