FillMed Filler — Before & After Care
How to Prepare (Before Care)
- Come to your appointment well hydrated and, ideally, with a light meal beforehand to keep you comfortable during treatment.
- Tell Dr Azra about any medications, supplements, allergies or previous dermal filler treatments so your plan is tailored to you.
- Arrive with clean, make-up-free skin where possible so the injection area can be prepped and mapped easily.
- Plan your date thoughtfully — avoid scheduling FillMed filler within two weeks of a wedding, holiday or big event in case of minor bruising.
- Book at least 2–3 weeks clear of any planned dental work, as procedures near the mouth can affect settling filler.
- Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for 24 hours before, unless prescribed by your doctor.
- Alcohol for at least 24 hours prior, as it thins the blood and increases the chance of bruising.
- Booking dental cleanings, extractions or other dental work around your treatment date.
- Active skincare (retinol, acids, strong exfoliants) on the treatment area for a day or two beforehand.
- Intense exercise or a hot sauna session immediately before your appointment.
After Your Treatment — Day by Day
First 24–48 hours
Mild swelling, tenderness and occasional bruising are completely normal. Keep the area clean, sleep slightly elevated on your first night, and avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, steam rooms and direct heat. Try not to touch or massage the filler unless Dr Azra has advised it.
Days 1 to 7
Any swelling begins to ease and early bruising fades. You can return to normal daily activities and gentle make-up, but continue to avoid facials, dental work and vigorous rubbing of the area. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every morning to protect the skin.
Weeks 2 to 4
The FillMed filler integrates fully with your tissues and softens into its final shape. Results now look natural and balanced. This is the ideal window for a review appointment if you feel any area needs a small refinement.
Month 6 and beyond
Your refreshed result is well settled and easy to maintain. Depending on the product and area, a top-up may be suggested down the line to keep things looking their best. Dr Azra will advise the right timing for you.
Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts
- Apply a cool (not frozen) compress gently for short periods to help reduce swelling in the first day.

- Keep the treated skin clean and wear a daily broad-spectrum SPF to protect your result.
- Stay well hydrated and eat normally to support comfortable healing.
- Take paracetamol if you need mild pain relief, and contact the clinic with any questions.
- Attend your review appointment so Dr Azra can check the settled result.
- Touching, pressing or massaging the area unless Dr Azra specifically advises it.
- Strenuous exercise, sauna, steam rooms, hot yoga and direct heat for 24–48 hours.
- Facials, laser, peels and dental work for around 2 weeks after treatment.
- Alcohol and blood-thinning medicines for the first 24 hours, as they worsen bruising.
