Exosome Hair Treatment — Before & After Care

Simple, evidence-based aftercare helps the growth factors from your exosome hair treatment settle into the scalp and work at their best. Follow the timeline below, and remember that Dr Azra Vaziri and her team in Dubai are only a message away if you have any questions after your session.
— Before Your Treatment

How to Prepare (Before Care)

Exosome hair treatment is delivered as a series of fine micro-injections into the scalp, so the goal before your appointment is a clean, calm scalp and blood that clots normally. A few small adjustments in the 24 hours beforehand keep bruising and tenderness to a minimum.
✓ Do
  • Wash your hair the morning of your appointment so the scalp is clean and product-free.
  • Eat a normal meal and stay well hydrated before you arrive.
  • Tell Dr Azra about any medications, supplements or scalp conditions at your consultation.
  • Come with dry, loose hair and no gel, wax, dry shampoo or heavy oils on the scalp.
  • Plan a low-key day — you can return to work straight after, but avoid the gym.
✗ Avoid before
  • Blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish-oil supplements for 24 hours (unless prescribed).
  • Alcohol for at least 24 hours, as it thins the blood and increases bruising.
  • Vigorous scalp scrubbing, scratching or exfoliation right before your session.
  • Colouring, bleaching or chemical treatments on the same day.
  • Arriving with an active scalp infection, sunburn or open irritation — let us know so we can reschedule.

After Your Treatment — Day by Day

24h

The first 24 hours

Do not wash your hair or apply any products for 12–24 hours so the exosomes stay in the scalp undisturbed. Mild redness, tiny pinpoint bumps or slight tenderness where the injections were placed are completely normal and settle within hours. Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 24 hours.

1–7

Days 1 to 7

From the day after treatment you can gently wash your hair with a mild, sulphate-free shampoo. Skip swimming pools, sauna and steam rooms for 48 hours, and go easy on heat styling — keep straighteners, tight ties and harsh products to a minimum. Protect your scalp from direct sun with a hat when outdoors in Dubai.

2–4

Weeks 2 to 4

The scalp feels completely normal and you can return to your usual routine, colouring and styling. Behind the scenes, the growth factors are stimulating the hair follicles and improving the scalp environment. Shedding of weaker hairs during this phase is expected and makes room for stronger regrowth.

6+

Month 3 and beyond

Most people begin to notice reduced shedding, finer baby hairs and improved density from around 8–12 weeks. A course of sessions is needed for visible growth — typically three to four treatments spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance. Dr Azra will map out your plan and can combine it with other hair treatments where helpful.

— Do & Don’t

Aftercare Do’s & Don’ts

✓ Do
  • Leave the scalp untouched — no washing or products — for 12–24 hours after treatment.
  • Use a gentle, sulphate-free shampoo and lukewarm water once you resume washing.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase and let hair air-dry where possible for the first day or two.
  • Protect the scalp from direct sun with a hat or parasol, especially in Dubai’s heat.
  • Drink plenty of water and eat well to support healthy follicle activity.
  • Attend your full course of sessions to get and keep visible results.
✗ Avoid
  • Washing your hair or applying serums, oils or styling products for 12–24 hours.
  • Strenuous exercise, heavy sweating and hot yoga for 24 hours.
  • Swimming pools, the sea, sauna and steam rooms for 48 hours.
  • Heat styling, tight ponytails, hats worn too tightly and harsh chemical products for a few days.
  • Scratching, picking or vigorously massaging the injection sites.
  • Alcohol and blood-thinning medication for the first 24 hours to limit bruising.
When to contact the clinic. Redness, mild swelling, pinpoint scabs and a little tenderness after exosome scalp injections are normal and fade within a day or two. However, please contact us promptly if you notice spreading warmth or redness, increasing pain, pus or discharge, fever, or any sign of an allergic reaction such as facial swelling or difficulty breathing (seek emergency care immediately for the latter). Dr Azra reviews every concern personally — message the clinic on WhatsApp +971 50 180 1793 and we will guide you.

Exosome Hair Treatment Aftercare FAQ

Wait 12–24 hours before washing your hair or applying any products, so the exosomes stay in the scalp and are not rinsed away. After that, wash gently with a mild, sulphate-free shampoo and lukewarm water. You can find full details on the exosome hair treatment page or ask us directly.

Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy sweating for 24 hours, and skip swimming pools, the sea, sauna and steam rooms for 48 hours. Sweat and chlorine can irritate the fresh injection sites, so give the scalp a short rest before resuming your usual activities in Dubai’s heat.

Yes. Mild redness, tiny pinpoint bumps and slight tenderness are normal and settle within hours to a day. A phase of shedding in the first few weeks is also expected — it clears out weaker hairs so stronger regrowth can follow. Contact the clinic only if you notice spreading redness, worsening pain, pus or fever.

A course of sessions is needed for visible growth — usually three to four treatments a few weeks apart, then maintenance. Most people notice reduced shedding and improved density from around 8–12 weeks. See current packages on the price list and Dr Azra will tailor a plan at your consultation.

Often, yes. Exosomes pair well with other scalp-injection approaches and can be part of a wider plan — for example alongside hair filler or another hair treatment. The same exosome technology can also support the skin; ask about exosome skin treatment if you are interested.
