⎯ The Real Difference
It Is the Carrier, Not the Calcium
Both products deliver the same active mineral. What differs is what the mineral is suspended in — and that turns out to decide almost everything a patient notices.
Radiesse suspends its microspheres in a carboxymethylcellulose gel. That gel is stiff, which is why Radiesse is the stronger scaffold: it holds a jawline, it projects a chin, and it is the product used for hands and, hyper-diluted, for skin tightening across the neck. The gel is cleared over roughly a year while your collagen takes over.
HArmonyCa suspends its microspheres in a cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel. HA is softer, holds water, and integrates into surrounding tissue faster — laboratory comparison showed the hybrid integrating more deeply and more quickly than CaHA alone through the first eight weeks. It behaves more like a filler on the day and more like a biostimulator afterwards.
The practical consequence patients care about: the HA part of HArmonyCa can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if something needs adjusting. Radiesse cannot be dissolved at all. Neither product is fully reversible — the calcium component of both has to be waited out — but the margin is not nothing.
Choose Radiesse when…
You want maximum structure — a heavy jawline, a chin that needs projection, temples. Or you want your hands treated, or hyper-dilute skin tightening on the neck and décolletage. Or FDA approval specifically matters to you.
Choose HArmonyCa when…
The lower face needs re-tensioning rather than bulk — softening jawline, early jowls, descending cheeks. Or you want the reassurance that part of it can be dissolved. Or you want the comfort of lidocaine already in the gel.
Either will work when…
You are treating cheeks and jawline for the first time, with moderate laxity and no strong preference. In that case Dr Azra picks on tissue thickness and how your skin has behaved with previous treatments — not on the brand.

What Determines Which One Is Right for You
Where the problem is. Hands, neck or décolletage and the conversation is over — Radiesse is the only one of the two used there. A lower face that has descended rather than deflated leans towards HArmonyCa.
Skin thickness. Thin skin over the area shows a firm product. Radiesse placed too superficially in thin tissue is the classic way to get a visible ridge; the softer HA carrier of HArmonyCa is more forgiving — though neither belongs near the under-eye.
How much structure you need. A heavy male jawline or a chin that needs real projection is a Radiesse job. Re-tensioning a face that has softened is an HArmonyCa job.
Your appetite for irreversibility. If the idea of a permanent-until-metabolised product worries you, the HA half of HArmonyCa is a real, if partial, answer. If it does not worry you, this stops mattering.

When Neither Is the Right Choice
Roughly a third of the people who ask for one of these two by name should have something else. The four situations below come up every week.
Lips and around the mouth
Neither product goes there. HA filler is the answer, and it is reversible, which in the lips matters.
Under the eyes
The skin is too thin for a CaHA-based product. Tear-trough filler with a soft HA, or nothing at all, is the honest answer.
Skin quality, not structure
Dullness, crepiness and dehydration are not volume problems. Profhilo, skin boosters or exosome therapy do that job.
Advanced laxity
Past a point, an injectable cannot hold the weight. A thread lift, energy-based tightening or surgery is the truthful recommendation — and you will get it.

Can HArmonyCa and Radiesse Be Combined?
Not usually in the same area, and not usually in the same session — there is no reason to place two CaHA products into one vector, and doing so makes it impossible to know which one produced the result or the problem.
Across different areas is a different question and is sometimes sensible: Radiesse for the hands or a hyper-dilute neck, HArmonyCa for the lower face. What is far more common is combining either one with a product that does a job neither does — Botox for dynamic lines, HA filler for lips and under-eyes, Profhilo or exosomes for surface quality. Published clinical work on HArmonyCa specifically describes combining it with HA fillers to treat lower-face and neck laxity together.

What is the main difference between HArmonyCa and Radiesse?
The carrier. Both deliver calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres, but Radiesse suspends them in a stiff carboxymethylcellulose gel and HArmonyCa suspends them in cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Radiesse is firmer and more structural; HArmonyCa is softer, integrates faster, and its HA component can be dissolved.
Which lasts longer, HArmonyCa or Radiesse?
Radiesse is quoted at 12 to 18 months. For HArmonyCa, clinical series report improvement in facial laxity still measurable at twelve months. Neither number is a promise — both depend on age, skin quality, area treated and how much was placed.
Which gives faster results?
Both are visible the same day, which is what separates them from Sculptra. HArmonyCa integrates into tissue faster in laboratory comparison, so the early weeks can settle a little sooner.
Which is better for the jawline?
Both treat the jawline and both are used for it here. A heavy jawline that needs real structural projection leans to Radiesse. A jawline that has blurred and needs re-tensioning, with early jowling, leans to HArmonyCa — that pattern is its core indication.
Can HArmonyCa be used on the hands?
No. Hand rejuvenation is a Radiesse indication, not a HArmonyCa one. If your hands are the concern, see Radiesse.
Can either be dissolved if I am unhappy?
Only partly, and only HArmonyCa. Its hyaluronic acid component responds to hyaluronidase; its calcium hydroxyapatite does not. Radiesse cannot be dissolved at all. With either product the right protection is a conservative first session and a review before anything is added.
Is HArmonyCa cheaper than Radiesse?

Is HArmonyCa FDA-approved like Radiesse?
No. Radiesse has held FDA approval in the United States since 2006. HArmonyCa is CE-marked, was authorised by Health Canada in 2026, and is available in the UAE. It is a difference in regulatory route rather than a safety verdict, but if FDA approval matters to you specifically, Radiesse is the one that carries it.
Which is better for Ozempic face?
