What to Expect — Treatment & Recovery
Every Juvederm treatment at the clinic starts with a face-to-face assessment. Dr Azra reviews the area you want treated, any filler already in place, your medical history and the result you have in mind, then confirms which product in the range — or which alternative brand — actually suits that area. Nothing is injected until that plan is agreed.
The injection itself takes roughly 15 to 30 minutes per area. The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied; every Juvederm gel also contains lidocaine, so discomfort during treatment is usually mild. Depending on the area, the filler is placed with a fine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula — deep against the bone for cheek or jaw support, more superficially for lips and fine lines. Results are visible immediately.
Mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises are normal for the first two to five days and settle on their own. For 24 to 48 hours afterwards it is best to avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and alcohol, and to keep the area free of heavy makeup. Most people return to normal activities the same day. A review at two to four weeks lets Dr Azra check the settled result and add a small top-up if it is needed.
Results and How Long Juvederm Lasts
The volume you see the moment the treatment finishes is not the settled result. For the first few days the gel holds extra water and the area looks fuller than it will remain, and any swelling from the needle or cannula is still present. Most of that resolves within a week. The result you should judge is the one at two to four weeks, once the filler has integrated with the surrounding tissue and softened into the face. Rather than waiting for a result to disappear completely, most patients top up before it has fully gone, which keeps the correction consistent and usually needs less product than starting again from scratch. Who Juvederm Is Suitable For

Because the range is so broad it can be matched to most areas of the face — but the right product still depends on the area, which is decided at consultation rather than by the brand name you arrive with.
Filler is generally postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and when there is an active skin infection, cold sore or breakout at the injection site. It is not suitable for anyone with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, or a history of severe allergic reactions.
