What is an OxyGeneo facial?

OxyGeneo is a 3-in-1 facial: in a single treatment it exfoliates the surface, infuses active ingredients, and oxygenates the skin from within. Those three actions usually need three separate steps or three separate machines. OxyGeneo does them together, which is why it is often described as a “super facial” and why the result is more than a standard cleanse-and-mask.

The mechanism is unusual and worth understanding, because it is the reason the facial exists. A small capsule is glided across the skin over an activator gel. The capsule and gel react on contact and release fine carbon dioxide (CO2) bubbles right at the skin surface. While that is happening, the same pass exfoliates away dull surface cells and drives a serum of actives into freshly prepared skin. So the exfoliation opens the door, the oxygenation is triggered from inside, and the infusion is delivered while the skin is at its most receptive.

This is the part that separates OxyGeneo from an “oxygen facial” that blows oxygen onto your face.

The Bohr effect is a well-established piece of human physiology: when the level of carbon dioxide around tissue rises, haemoglobin releases more of the oxygen it is carrying, and the body increases blood flow to that area. OxyGeneo puts that principle to work. By generating a controlled layer of CO2 at the skin surface, it prompts your circulation to deliver more oxygen-rich blood to the treated skin from within, rather than depositing oxygen on the outside where it cannot easily be used.

That is a meaningful distinction. Skin does not absorb useful amounts of oxygen through its surface, so oxygen sprayed onto the face is mostly show. Encouraging your own blood supply to bring oxygen to the area is the physiologically sensible version of the same idea — and it is why the skin often looks flushed with colour and noticeably fresher straight after a session.

There is no acid frosting, no ablation and no downtime — so it is a comfortable, low-risk way to brighten and refresh skin that pigments easily. That makes it a sensible regular facial for skin that reacts badly to aggressive treatments.

The honest flip side is that gentleness has limits. OxyGeneo brightens, hydrates and smooths the surface; it does not resurface at depth or remodel the skin. For the day or two afterwards, keep it simple: pause strong actives such as retinoids and acid exfoliants, skip saunas, steam rooms and hard sweating, and wear a high-factor SPF every day and reapply it.
